Anomiidae go by several names, among them jingle shells, saddle oysters and Mermaid’s Toenails. These are extremely thin, translucent paper-like shells. The shell itself follows the shape of the object it lays on, usually a rock or the large shell of another creature. While the meat inside is basically inedible, there are industrial uses such as the manufacture of glue, paint and shellac.
Materials: The earrings are cast in bronze and plated with 24ct gold over silver plate. The wires are 925 silver.
Measures: 1.1" L x 1.1" W
